My book discusses seven focus areas essential for aligning and transforming a business. In previous newsletters, I introduced the first focus area: Strategic Intent - the foundation of our personal and professional vision, aspirations, goals, and the strategic impact we want to make.

As an executive coach, I often emphasize the importance of founders and leaders being intentional about how they want to live their lives and ensuring this aligns with their business vision, goals, and direction.

This brings us to the second focus area: Business Planning – Direction Setting and Alignment.

Why Business Planning Matters

One of a leader's most critical capabilities is creating and communicating a shared vision for the business.

This goes beyond setting goals - it’s about actively engaging with others to establish direction and ensure all stakeholders have clarity and know how to deliver value to customers.

Business alignment is also a leader’s responsibility. It requires ensuring that the business’s systems, structure, and people - individuals and teams - work optimally to achieve the desired outcomes.

However, achieving this clarity and alignment is easier said than done.
